Cary High School was named to the Top 25 of the Nation's best wrestling schools for the decade of the 1990's. Other traditional powers we compete against who are also on this elite list include:

    • #3 Paulsboro NJ - The Red Raiders have won 13 state championships in 13 years. We finished ahead of Paulsboro in both the 1995 and 1996 Hornet Tournaments, behind them in 1998, 1999, 2000. Paulsboro was ranked in the Top 20 in the nation for the 1998-2001 seasons.
       
    • #12 Great Bridge VA - The Wildcats were 2nd to Paulsboro at the Hornet Tournament in 98 & 2000, won it in 97 and 99, and placed 2nd to Cary in 96. Great Bridge has won 11 state titles in 13 years.
       
    • #21 Rock Hill SC - Year after year the Bearcats are ranked nationally, as are the Wildcats of Great Bridge. Rock Hill has won 8 state titles in 11 years. Cary has placed ahead of Rock Hill in the Hornet the last 5 years.
